Fund raising Ceilidth

On Friday 15th November, Penicuik Curling Club held a fund raising Ceilidh and Supper in St. Mungo’s Church Hall Penicuik.

Between 50 and 60 people attended, including 15 welcome visitors from West Linton Curling Club and a great night of dancing and socialising ensued.

Supper of haggis, neeps and tatties or stovies was provided by the ladies of the Social Committee and throroughly enjoyed by all. A raffle was also held to help raise funds and the main prize of a Christmas Hamper was won by Elaine Lambie with other seasonal prizes well distributed amongst those attending.

The Club would like to thank the following local businesses for their very generous donations to the raffle:

  • Asda Stores
  • Costa Coffee
  • Sainsbury’s, Straiton
  • Penicuik Wines
  • The Deli
  • Tesco’s Penicuik
  • Pentland Plants
  • Loanhead
  • J.S. Cooper, Roslin

Thanks are also due to Avenue Stores for providing the liquid refreshments and to Rainbow for such great Ceilidh music, ensuring the dance floor was busy all evening.

All proceeds raised will go towards Penicuik Curling Club Bi-Centenary Legacy Fund. This fund will be used to help celebrate the Club’s 200th Anniversary in 2015 and to promote curling in Penicuik and further afield.

Many thanks to all who contributed and made this such a successful evening.
