Thirds Competition

In the mid early 1990’s, club membership had been buoyed by intakes of new players keen to improve and develop their skills to move up in the club rink hierarchy.  The Thirds League was introduced to help facilitate this process, provide a training ground for future skips, and afford an opportunity for members to gain experience at alternative rink positions.  The competition was well received and has continued to be well supported.  The trophy awarded annually to the winners is a handsome quaich donated by Ronnie Hope & Co, Architects.

Originally the participating teams played each other only once; in more recent times the league has been based on the teams meeting each other twice across the season.
