ARE YOU UP FOR A CHALLENGE? After a successful defence in January 25, Team Ramsay await you and your rink! Ice is booked for SATURDAY 15th MARCH 25 when Kyle Baptie will challenge for The Crook but any member can challenge the holder at any time.

New holder of the Club Challenge Crook is Team Ramsay who took ownership on 18th February, 24.  With Jim Ramsay were Stuart Blackwood, Alex Moir and Alan McDonald. The scoreline read 9 -3 with 5 ends to 2.

In a tense Game of Thrones on 29th November 2023, Penicuik’s Curling Queens have been deposed by the new Kings of Curling, Dave Anderson’s Rink of himself, Geoff Dawe, Jim Hume and Graeme Cassie.

Wednesday 22nd February 2023.

The ladies team of Margaret, Liz, Jean and Pam retain the Club Challenge Crook after fighting off the latest challenge from Craig Brown, Kirsty McWilliam, Karen Black and Stuart Blackwood. Final score 6 – 5 to the ladies.

First Challenge – Tuesday 29th November 2022

The first challenge of this season came from a team of ladies with Margaret Carr as Skip, Liz Anderson, Jean Noble and Pam Ramsay playing against a changed team of Martin Hobbs(Skip), Roger Scott, Jim Cowper and Elaine Lambie.

After a very entertaining match, the final score was 10-1 to the ladies who are crowned the new Club Challenge Trophy Holders.

The  Club Challenge Trophy holders at the end of the 2021-22 season were Keith Morris,  Martin Hobbs, Roger Scott and David Gillespie after winning the match in 2 separate challenges from firstly Craig Brown’s rink and then Jim Ramsay’s rink.

The current holders can be challenged by any team of four club members, albeit with a recommended maximum of 2 Kettle Skips in the team.
